It is no secret that Subaru strives to be a clean and environmentally friendly automotive manufacturer. In fact, they are leaders in this regard. It has for years been a longstanding policy for Subaru’s production to be as clean and safe for the environment as possible. In fact, Subaru’s production plant in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, was the first automotive production plant to be without waste and go landfill free. It is clear that Subaru’s dedication to a cleaner way of automotive manufacturing is very real.

In continuation with this path of manufacturing, Subaru has partnered again with the American Association for the Advancement of Science or (AAAS) to bring its “Subaru Loves Learning” initiative back into the light. The goal of this initiative is to get acclaimed, award-winning science books into the hands of the country’s students.

The initiative will consist of Subaru and nearly 500 participating retailers donating over 76,000 science books. The books will be distributed throughout the country to students K-12, and will help to educate them and prepare them for possible careers in the numerous science fields.

Thomas J. Doll, who is the president and COO of Subaru of America, Inc. is quoted speaking about the initiative. He said, "We are proud to work with the American Association for the Advancement of Science to engage the next generation in the wonderful world of science and inspire curious minds to explore and prepare for the many opportunities a passion for science can lead."

Subaru is dedicated to not only being a great manufacturer of vehicles, but also to helping better the environment. Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. is the only automotive production plant across the entire United States that have been designated a backyard wildlife habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. Education is also very important. Educating future generations ensures the continuing research towards a cleaner Earth.
