Rugged with a touch of elegance

Subaru Outback is designed to look even more rugged, but this time, there is a slight touch of elegance hidden in the details. The grille openings are wider and lower than before but still hexagonal in shape, and the bumper really compliments the new design.
The headlights are c-shaped. Subaru is known for its boxer engine and to highlight it, along with the parking lights, there are horizontal character lines that extend outwards.
New buyers will notice DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) below the headlights, and a completely redesigned front cladding which will help protect the car from stones and mud. The Outback is an off-roader and these small but useful enhancements will only help improve its handling and driving capabilities.
There are not too many cars in the world that handle better than Subaru's lineup. Subaru takes the description pragmatic to an entirely new level.
Improved safety

The Outback is already a rugged SUV with several safety mechanisms in place, and the new 2018 version improves upon it. The headlights are now steering responsive (SRH) and it comes with LED headlights. This means that the headlights will turn in response to the steering wheel. There is a high beam assist feature that will control the high beams and toggle it on-off depending on oncoming traffic.
EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, an award winning feature that was developed by Subaru in-house, is part of the Outbback. It comes with adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, pre-collision braking, and more. Rear view camera is now standard on all trim levels. SRVD indicator is now located on the side of mirror and is bigger than ever before.
Notable features
The chassis has been revamped to make it quieter and more responsive than previous models, including return suspension dampers for a smoother and better ride. The steering and braking mechanisms are also more responsive.

The Japanese giant has deployed short-pitch chain which is quieter and some adjustments were made to the engine's response time when the driver accelerates to reduce the noise made by the powertrain. The shape of the exterior mirror is now more aerodynamic to reduce air noise. Better quality sound insulating glass has been used for the front window which has made the front part of the cabin quieter.
The center console has been completed redesigned with an 8-inch display screen which comes with sterling multimedia features. Don’t get distracted! Premium materials have been used in the cabin. Stitching details on the dashboard are genuine on Touring, Premier, and Limited trim levels. And with the better economy which will certainly get better when America has a viable health care system and lower taxes, more people will be able to afford the pricier trim levels and be able to purchase a Subaru even faster rather having to wait another one to two years.
The cabin will cool much more quickly thanks to a revised cooling system while providing a more uniform temperature across the cabin. The setting indicator for the temperature has been moved to the inside of the control dial for the Touring trim level.
Voice recognition has improved by leaps and bounds all thanks to Nuance technology, and thanks to the Outback including two microphones instead of one. The system is now compatible with multiple international languages and using voice commands with Apple Siri and OK Google is more intuitive.
The new Subaru Outback is one of the most anticipated vehicles of the year.
