The HyperBlue color also carries over inside to the logos and the accent stitching. If you like the BRZ and the color blue and are considering buying a new car, then this is the only vehicle for you. What's more, all the bolted on visuals from last year have been removed too.

Apart from the color, the rest of the car is pretty much the same. Yes, the new Starlink infotainment system is installed in the vehicle and there is a rearview mirror in the cabin now. But that is pretty much it as far as updates for the 2016 model are concerned. Still, this car certainly is worth revisiting:

  • Power

One of the biggest complaints people have about this car is its lack of power. But this may just be because they are not driving it properly. The peak horsepower for the 200 horsepower engine is achieved at 7,000 rpm while the maximum 151 lb-ft of torque is experienced at 6,400 rpm. It may not be the best sounding engine but it really can make the tires roll.

  • Steering

When it comes to the steering frame, the car is fabulous. The lightness of the vehicle is precisely communicated through its wheel. It is properly weighted, direct, and doesn't appear to be short of feedback at any time.

  • Body

The chassis is firm and balanced. You will always be able to sense what all the wheels are doing. Weight distribution and grip level can also be sensed around the corners which make it easier for you to push the car more. The tail does step out a little but you will quickly be able to learn how much corrective input is required.

It is a gorgeous and slick car to look at and to be in. The curves are awesome and this car is appealing unlike some other cars that you do not care to look at all.

  • Tires

The car comes with Michelin Primacy HP tires which aren't too bad, but they are 215 section tires which is the same tires that are offered as an optional upgrade for the 2015 Toyota Prius. So the tires are going to be giving up much quicker than the suspension. This is probably the reason why anyone who is serious about driving a BRZ fits it with new tires and wheels the day they get it.

But you can also just use these tires up and then change the type of tire once you derive your money’s worth out of this tire.

  • Transmission

The 6 speed manual gearbox is among the best in the business too. The clutch travel is quite short and the engagement is solid. You can easily click through this short throw gearbox with immense precision.

  • Interior

The driving position of the vehicle is excellent. You get a complete view of the hood right till the wheel arches and even the seats are impressive enough to be considered sporty while also be comfortable enough for your back and butt to not hate you are driving for a few hours. The rear seats aren't too big though and can hardly accommodate anything more than a few grocery bags and backpacks – certainly not a large person.

  • Tech

The Starlink infotainment system is quite cool. But the interface isn't as easy to use or as intuitive as compared to a few of the other Subaru systems. There are no steering controls either which can make matters a little more complicated.
