Subaru’s 2017 Impreza Concept car has wooed many towards it and people are looking forward to getting behind this futuristic vehicle’s steering wheel. Here’s a quick look at the world class features that the 2017 Impreza will host, if and when it hits the showrooms.
Exterior
Popularly being known as the Impreza 5 door concept, 2017 Impreza has impressed many with its looks. As per Subaru it ‘features a blend of bold expressions of Subaru's Dynamic & Solid design elements.’ The car has a sporty look and has a hexagonal grill.
It is seen to have a low stance from the front and also has hawk-eye headlights. It is also slightly larger in size. It is a hatchback. The headlights and tail lights are C shaped. Also there is roof mounted spoiler. The surfaces are more rounded. The aerodynamic functionality has been made excellent due to the design of the car. The wheel specification as given by Subaru is 19 inches.
Regarding the headlights, they are awesome and so cool looking. It is also fantastic how the top and bottom lights, even the fact that they have top and bottom lights, are so far apart. That is edgy and astonishing. The headlight designer who crafted those should get a pat on the back.
Interior
Previous versions of the Impreza hardly impressed people in the interior sections. Frowns on the material quality of the interior have made Subaru wary the negative feedbacks. The 2017 Impreza Concept is expected to up the material quality. However styling might still remain limited and simple. The car is expected to have a seating capacity of 5 people. The infotainment system includes the rear vision camera, AM and FM stereo, Subaru STARLINK smartphone integration, Bluetooth, etc.
Engine and Expected Performance
With a rumored 2.0 liters Boxer engine, this vehicle is expected to score well in terms of fuel efficiency. There will be all wheel drive system. The concept car is expected to launch the all new flat-four engine. This will have features like cylinder deactivation and direct fuel injection system which will boost efficiency. The engine output is rated at 160 horsepower.
Release Date and Price
The Subaru’s 2017 Impreza is expected to be available in the US market in late 2016. There are many uncertainties about the price but it is expected to start at around $20,000. Not a bad deal!
Competition
This compact car will be looking to compete with the likes of Honda Civic, Chevrolet’s Cruze, and Hyunadai’s Elantra. However Subaru has an upper hand owing to the AWD and Boxer engines in the car. It will be fitting rival in the compact car segment. However the future of the car and its forecasted popularity will have to face the challenges of a dynamic automobile e market at the time of its launch.
Expectations Building as Rumored Launch Dates Approach
Subaru is not alien to negative feedback because of its lackluster transformations of concept cars into real vehicles ready for the road in the past. However there have been rumors that the 2017 Impreza will not be too different from the concept car.
