There are going to be three concept vehicles from STI as well as four race cars from the motorsport activities division of STI. The event is to be held at Makuhari Messe.
The STI BRZ Performance Concept
There are going to be three concept models on display at Subaru's booth. The first will be the STI Performance concept which is based off the BRZ sports coupe that had been unveiled last year at the New York Auto Show. This will be the premiere for the high performance BRZ in Japan.
This turbo charged STI Concept will pump out 450 hp even though it was originally quoted by Subaru to only produce 345 hp combined with 332 lb-ft of torque. BRZ is the one which has signaled the expanded influence of STI in the US market. But performance enthusiasts were disappointed when they learnt that the BRZ wasn't going to be making it to the production line.
Not every idea can be produced. Subaru must have had its reasons. Subaru is an outstanding company who made a manufacturing plant that produces no waste. This is a company that does not make decisions unless it makes total sense and they are making cars now that drive and operate with the best of them. If you questioned Subaru’s decision making befo re it may have been for good reason but now Subaru is pressing the right buttons and the cars they are producing and how they are producing them speaks for itself.
The XV Hybrid STI Concept
Subaru is also going to be bringing the XV Hybrid STI Concept to the show. It is going to feature a much sportier attitude and have orange colored accents on its exterior White Quarts Silica paint. The interiors are going to get enhancements with beige and orange accents.
It will come with additional STI parts that Subaru claims will help improve driving stability while also enhancing its driving character. Subaru's performance fans have spent months asking the company to introduce a Crosstrek STI and with this concept's release, it looks like the brand is finally moving in the right direction. Fans are still crying out loud for a 2.0 L turbo boxer engine under the hood.
The Levorg STI Concept
This concept comes with beautifully designed 18 inch aluminum wheels from STI. It also has black two tone and red wine interior features as well as exclusive dampers tuned by STI. Subaru has said that the exhilarating handling performance that customers were looking for has been delivered with this concept car. The Sports Tourer isn't being sold in the US and is available only in Japan, Europe, and Australia. This is why the STI Concept is going to be another model which US fans will only be able to look at from a distance.
The core business at STI right now is supplying base vehicles & competition parts for motorsports. They are also involved in developing and planning the limited edition models at Subaru. They develop knowledge of performance through their activities related to motorsport and then apply the tuning techniques they learn on the production versions of Subaru's WRX & WRX STI. They even plan and sell the tuning parts and accessories for these cars.
STI's Motorsport Vehicles
STI is also going to be displaying the 2016 WRX STI Nurburgring 24 hour Challenge racer & the 2016 Subaru BRZ GT300 which runs in the Super GT. STI are going to be announcing their motorsport activities for 2016 at the event. The other race cars which will be on Subaru's stand include the 2016 WRX STI Japan Rally car and the 2016 Subaru BRZ by CG Robot Racing.
