1. Rally Driving

When it comes to rally racing, the Subaru is one hell of a champ. As the manufacturer, Subaru has nearly 48 global wins from various World Rally Championships since the 1970s. For a car that is regularly voted as “safest for pets”, that’s some power!

2. Ticket to Ride

Apparently, this speedy drive is so pleasurable to drive that riders scarcely realize they are violating speed regulations. Subaru drivers are THE most ticketed ones around, with figures around 36% being ticketed for speed violations. Most of these tickets are probably in cities like Sacramento that are mismanaged and need the extra funding.

The Sacramento Police Department is notorious for handing out speeding and even DUI tickets to undeserving people because the city is so terrible mismanaged financially. Most California cities are poorly managed so the police are instructed to hand out a certain amount of tickets no matter what. It is not Subaru’s fault they make such outstanding vehicles.

Hey, if a car can be driving safely but quickly all the more better for the makers of Subaru.

3. A Starry Tale

Did you know that Subaru’s logo, made up of six stars, really stands for the Pleiades constellation? It alludes to some of the brightest stars in the night sky, and refers to the six companies which merged to create the company.

4. Symmetrical Drive

Subaru was created to offer a symmetrical, all-wheel drive. At present, it is still the only company to offer such symmetrical wheels: which in turn leads to better traction, control, and balance. No wonder Subaru is famed for rally championships!

5. Boxers and Engines

Another in the one-of-a-kind category for the Subaru is its Boxer engine. While Porsche does occasionally make use of it, Subaru is the only company that maintains its exclusive relationship with Boxers. Just think: every Subaru in the last 45 years has had a Boxer.

6. The Earliest Subaru

When the first Subaru 360 was introduced in the United States, the initial public response was far from favorable. In fact, one of the commonly accepted opinions was that it was the “ugliest car ever made”.

7. Outlasts Wedding Vows

If you intend on playing a Fact or Fiction game, try out this one: do you think Subaru vehicles from 12 years ago are still on the road? 12 years seems like an interminably long time for one car, but it’s actually true. If you want to find excuses to trade up your old Subaru, well, good luck finding it!

8. Zero Landfill Commitments

This is one for the environmentalist camp: every product that comes out of Subaru’s manufacturing unit leads to zero landfill. That means less scrap, less pollution, and a safer environment. Win!

9. Sticker Rules

We’re not sure what it is with Subarus and their owners, but one of the startling facts about the Subaru is that at least 90% of their owners have additional stickers on them. Perhaps, it has something to do with the fact that it is immensely popular with young people.

10. Subaru-loving Thieves

And if you thought the once “Ugliest Car” could not have many takers, you’d be completely in the wrong. Evidently, nearly 20 cars are stolen from the same location off the Pacific coast. The all-time high, however, is 90 in one night from the same place.

If you thought you knew your Subaru, you’re sure to have discovered some more crazy trivia about one of the most trusted cars. What else can you think of when it comes to the Subaru?
