This is most likely going to be a precursor for the automaker's new generation of small XV SUV's which are currently among the most popular vehicles being sold by the company. Apart from the upcoming release of the XV, Subaru even managed to show off its XV Special Edition at the Geneva Auto Show in Chicago.

Geneva Auto Show

Even though the Geneva Auto Show is most associated with exotic cars, Subaru is still planning to make a big statement with this concept car at this show. In fact, this versatile Japanese carmaker released a teaser photo which showed the most recent styling for these SUVs along with the XV Concept name tag. This was quite a treat for Subaru's fans.

New Name

A lot of people might not know this, but the new name for this concept car was supposed to be the XV Crosstrek, a small, popular SUV for the people. The name was earlier used for the concept design too before the XV model was released. Last month, Subaru managed to showcase the XV STI Hybrid concept at the Auto Salon in Tokyo as well.

This car can fly like the wind and handle plenty of terrain. It may not be able to handle larger objects but can handle itself in wet, muddy, snowy, icy, windy, and other types of conditions with acumen. It is not going to pull a large boat that well but it can haul a few people around and their stuff in comfort and style and it covers lots of road mileage with the best of them.

Teaser Details

In the teaser picture released by the automaker, the grille, fascia, and front wheel are on display. The wheel design has been crafted in a way that it echoes the earlier XV STI Hybrid Concept. But this doesn't mean that it does not still hint at a more aggressive performance. The appearance of the headlights have been tailored to look like the more recent WRX model, with square casings. Apart from the advance and unique features, the skid plate on the front also adds to the undisputed off road reputation that brand has built up with the public.

Subaru in a statement proudly stated that the XV concept embodies the next generation Dynamic X Solid design philosophy. This is a very bold statement and the expectations are already running high.

An Impressive Car for Crossover Lovers

The photo that was released makes it very clear that the automaker is getting ready to bring forward their latest styling technique to the XV model. But, whether they are going to offer a new engine with a brand new structure or not is still not clear. Subaru lovers might as well go ahead and start getting ready to buy the STI version of the Subaru Crosstrek which comes with an aggressive wheel design.

The angular styling that you see on the XV is very similar to the one shown on the Impreza concept car with five doors that was on display in 2015 at the Tokyo Auto Show. This also lends credit to the story that the new XV is going to share its platform with the new Impreza car.

For the people who can't bear to wait any longer in order to get their hands on the next generation XV, they can console themselves with the XV Crosstrek Special Edition that is going to be unveiled at the auto show in Chicago. This car which was announced recently has a design that has been based on the brands popular high trim 2.0i Premium, XV model. The main distinction will most probably be the exceptional red exterior and interior of the car.
