Thanks to the improved torque vectoring system in the newest WRX though, the car now corners quite well. The reworked suspension, stiff chassis, and well-designed tires have an important role to play here as well.

Safety and Entertainment

Apart from its active safety and handling which will keep you protected, the cabin is incredibly safe too, if you get involved in an accident.

Subaru WRX STI received top ratings in six safety tests from the IIHS and also comes with the now famous EyeSight technology which helps quite a bit in avoiding accidents. It can alert the driver if they are drifting from their lane. It also senses impending frontal collisions and can brake automatically without human intervention. You cannot beat that! Well, if the car could drive itself then that would be that but that is about it. Does this mean you can drive a WRX drunk? No, no way.

The WRX also comes with the Starlink entertainment system. The touchscreen is quite easy to navigate and can easily pair with your Android or iPhone device meaning it supports both Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

Performance

The WRX has a terrific engine motor which allows for excellent performance and optimum fuel consumption. It can do 0-60 mph in around five seconds and has an average MPG rating of 25, one of the best in its class.

Even though the car might appear to be mature and friendly at first, if you're the kind of person who likes tuning and tweaking, and going for aftermarket modifications, there is an entire world of parts and a huge enthusiast community for you to explore. Just watch Need for Speed or Fast and Furious about that! If you want a larger car that is not so sporty, the WRX is not it but it is for many single people who need a sharp car that can take them to work and enable them to run the errands they need to run.

For a rally fan, the top choice when it comes to a daily driver is the WRX and if not that then the slightly more high performance oriented WRX STI. There is no thrill equal to choosing a racing event and seeing a Subaru that resembles yours being driven professionally in ways you can't even comprehend and doing things that perhaps did not seem possible. But you do not have to be there, you can just go watch a movie or grab a bite to eat in it.

Interior

The quality of the interior has never been a strong point for Subaru and this is because they prefer minimalistic looks. The WRX is the best of the bunch so far as rally cars are concerned. The cabin design is straightforward and simple. The controls are easy to understand too. Unfortunately, most competitors in this price range do give off a premium vibe which is something the WRX just can't do because they believe in a different philosophy and are not afraid to walk the unbeaten track.

On the plus side, the cabin is quite spacious. The driver's positioning is excellent and so is the outward visibility. The new flat bottomed, thick rimmed steering wheel gives off a sporty vibe which racing enthusiasts will appreciate.

There's 37.1 inches of headroom in the back and it's reasonably comfortable thanks to the larger wheelbase. The rear seats can be folded down to hold additional cargo. The 12 cubic feet in the trunk is not quite enough for most storage tasks though but since the rear seats fold down, that does give the owner some more room to play with.

Owning a WRX can be compared to joining a club. When you pass another one on the road, you will feel like waving. You'll get a tingling sensation each time you do. This is a normal feeling and it never gets old. You are now in the club!
