Yesterday, Subaru of America revealed the finer details of the 2023 Subaru WRX performance car. This fifth-generation model of the WRX offers engaging drives with standard Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and a powerful 2.4-liter turbocharged Subaru BOXER engine. The vehicle’s tablet-style 11.6-inch SUBARU STARLINK Multimedia Plus infotainment system and top-rated EyeSight Driver Assist Technology are optional features that make every trip safe and keep you connected on the road. For unmatched luxury, the premium WRX GT trim features exclusive technologies like electronically controlled dampers and Recaro Performance Design front seats for relaxing trips wherever you go.
The 2023 WRX debuts in Spring of 2024 and will arrive in four trim levels: Base, Premium, Limited and GT. The whole WRX lineup comes with world-renowned Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and a 2.4-liter turbocharged Subaru BOXER engine, giving you 271 horsepower at 5,600 rpm with 258 lb-ft of torque. Active Torque Vectoring is also a novel feature that comes standard across the lineup.
The new WRX is built with a 6-speed manual transmission with optimized gear shifting systems and a refined shift quality that comes standard. The Subaru Performance Transmission (SPT) is offered on all trim levels and is standard fare for the GT edition. The automatic SPT offers faster up and down shifts and incorporates adaptive shift control that can quickly respond to perform rev-matching downshifts under braking, maintain the ideal ratio through corners, and respond faster on corner exit.
The 2023 WRX also delivers a sturdy wide-body design that gives off a racer-like stance with bold looks. The front of the vehicle includes Subaru’s distinct hexagonal grille among compact LED headlights and a broad hood scoop to emphasize the broad and low look. On Premium and higher trims, the WRX’s rear taillights are made to glow in a way that stylishly resembles volcanic magma.
All SUBARU STARLINK Multimedia systems for the 2023 WRX are equipped with high-resolution touchscreens with on-screen controls for audio, climate, and vehicle features. Smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming connectivity; AM/FM stereo; Rear Vision Camera; SiriusXM All-Access radio and Travel Link; and HD Radio are also standard.
