The Wilderness family is growing as Subaru of America introduces the new 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness at the New York International Auto Show. This is the most rugged and trail-capable Crosstrek ever, and its introduction marks an exciting new era of off-roading prowess for Subaru.
The list of standard features on the Crosstrek Wilderness is enough to get any adventurer’s attention. Offering a blend of SUV capability and car-like ride and handling, the vehicle features exterior and interior details especially designed for carrying wet and dirty outdoor gear, exclusive body cladding, standard X-MODE, and Subaru’s famous Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive with a revised drivetrain for enhanced performance.
A 2.5-liter direct-injection SUBARU BOXER engine with 182 hp and 178 lb-ft of torque powers the 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness, and with improved climbing ability, traction, and an increased maximum towing capacity of 3,500 lbs, this SUV is intensely powerful both on and off the road.
The Wilderness is equipped with award-winning EyeSight Driver Assist Technology just like all of the 2024 Crosstrek models, including features such as Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control; Pre-Collision Braking; Pre-Collision Throttle Management; Lane Departure and Sway Warning, and Lead Vehicle Start Alert. Automatic Emergency Steering is also standard on the Crosstrek Wilderness, helping to avoid collisions at speeds below 50 mph.
A versatile ladder-type roof rack system with a 176 lb. dynamic load capacity and a 700 lb static load limit makes transporting gear easier than ever, and even allows for the safe use of larger roof-top tents. Inside, Subaru StarTex seats are comfortable and durable, and the load floor features a removable water-resistant rear cargo tray for wet, muddy gear, as well as an LED light in the rear gate for better nighttime visibility.
The 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness is an unstoppably capable off-roading machine, with 9.3 inches of ground clearance, standard X-MODE with selectable drive modes like Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud, standard Hill Descent Control, and so much more. Yokohama GEOLANDAR all-terrain tires give the vehicle optimal performance in a variety of terrains, including mud, gravel or snow, and the vehicle is packed with technological systems to help facilitate safe and easy off-roading.
