The Subaru Loves Learning initiative is the heart of Subaru’s efforts to give all students an equal opportunity at a quality education. It’s one of the causes that the automaker holds closest, and it was the inspiration behind Subaru’s decision to team up with AdoptAClassroom.org. In partnership with this organization, Subaru recently adopted all of the classrooms at high schools on the Camden High campus in Camden, NJ, the company’s hometown and headquarters.
Camden High School, Charles Brimm Medical Arts High School, Creative Arts Academy and Camden Big Picture Learning Academy are all included schools in this recent classroom adoption. By adopting these classrooms, Subaru is helping to put funds directly into the hands of teachers at Camden High, helping them to provide critical learning materials for their students.
Subaru is also supporting the development of a graphic arts lab at Eastside High School with funding and materials donations. This lab will give students the chance to learn valuable and highly marketable skills for their future careers, and will also help Eastside to create branded gear for the school store, generating additional revenue for the school.
“The heart of our Subaru Loves Learning initiative is showing support for the students in our communities, and here in our own Camden community we want every student to get the education that can help them achieve their dreams,” said Jeff Walters, President and Chief Operating Officer, Subaru of America, Inc. “We’re honored to once again team up with our close friends at the Camden City School District and wish every student, teacher and faculty member an outstanding school year.”
Over 170 volunteers from Subaru of America headquarters celebrated this announcement and the start of the school year last month by visiting schools across the district and helping teachers set up their classrooms for the coming year, assisting more than 80 teachers in all.
“Our number one focus is providing the very best education for students in Camden, and learning materials play a critical role in achieving the quality schooling they deserve,” said Katrina McCombs, Superintendent of the Camden City School District. “We thank Subaru for taking some of the burden off of our teachers, parents and students to keep our classrooms well-prepared for the school year.”
Subaru is the largest corporate partner of AdoptAClassroom.org, and the automaker and its retailers have supported more than 470,000 students nationwide through the Subaru Loves Learning initiative since 2021. This new effort in Camden, NJ is yet another chance for Subaru to do its part in supporting America’s students!
