

Since 2008, Subaru and its retailers have celebrated the Share the Love Event at the end of the year during the holiday season, taking the opportunity to give back, especially to local charities in the communities that Subaru retailers know and love. This annual event is one of the automaker’s most defining efforts, and it was just recently announced that the 2023 Subaru Share the Love event has surpassed its goal, donating $288 million to various charities and charitable organizations over the past sixteen years. Last year, the initiative raised $31.6 million overall, a large part of which came from Subaru and its retailers directly, who donated over $24 million to local organizations through the hometown charity portion of the campaign.
Last year, all Subaru retailers across the U.S. participated in the Share the Love Event. From November 16, of last year to January 2 of 2024, for any new vehicle purchased or leased at a Subaru retailer around the country resulted in a minimum of $300 donated to charity. Customers who purchased or leased a car during the campaign period could choose one of four national charity partners of the event, or a local hometown charity of the retailer’s choice, to receive donations. Over three-quarters of the donations sent through this initiative went to local charitable organizations, a total of over $24 million that went straight to more than 830 hometown charities. Subaru has a longstanding relationship with national charity partners, Some of the other charities involved in the campaign included The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), Make-A-Wish, Meals on Wheels America, and the National Park Foundation, all of which have built longstanding relationships with Subaru on a national level. Together, these organizations received over $7 million in donations last year.
