The Subaru Loves Learning initiative is one of several branches of the philanthropic arm of Subaru of America, and the Subaru Loves Learning program has been a partner of AdoptAClassroom.org for over four years now. Subaru is the largest corporate partner of the impactful charity, and this year their collaboration has been able to provide help to a milestone of 750,000 students nationwide!

“This record number of students being supported would not be possible without the help of the Subaru community,” said Ann Pifer, Executive Director of AdoptAClassroom.org. “We are grateful to extend our partnership with Subaru for a fourth year in a row and sincerely thank Subaru and its retailers for the difference they make in the lives and educational opportunities of students and teachers around the country.”

Working with AdoptAClassroom.org, Subaru and its retailers across the country work to provide teachers and students with access to critical supplies and resources that kids need to succeed. According to AdoptAClassroom.org, 92% of teachers in the United States have students whose families cannot afford to purchase their school supplies, leading to an epidemic of teachers spending their own money, an average of $860 per year, to help provide for their classrooms.

AdoptAClassroom.org works to address this deficit, partnering up with companies like Subaru to provide for students in high-needs schools (schools that have a Title I program and/or schools where at least 40% of the students qualify for the Free or Reduced-Price Lunch Program). These classrooms receive supplies, resources, and even school supply kits of often-requested items!

Ringing in the 2024 school year, Subaru will continue to support students in the Camden City School District (CCSD), adopting all kindergarten to fifth grade classrooms in Camden, NJ, the automaker’s hometown. Over 2,090 students and 122 classrooms across eight different schools will be impacted by this program– just a fraction of the hundreds of thousands of kids that Subaru and AdoptAClassroom.org have been able to help nationwide!

“At Subaru, we believe that every student deserves a fair opportunity at a quality education,” said Alan Bethke, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Subaru of America, Inc. “We are incredibly proud of the progress achieved in supporting over 750,000 students, and we know the importance of continuing to support students and teachers around the country to have the best learning environment possible.”
