Each year, the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) conducts a survey on people’s satisfaction with the vehicles they buy. The results of the 2024 study have just been released, and Subaru of America is pleased to have been awarded the top spot overall! The automaker received a score of 83 out of 100, tying with only one other automaker in the mass-market segment and two in the luxury segment.

Since it was developed at the University of Michigan in 1994, ACSI has been the only national cross-industry measure of customer satisfaction in the U.S., tracking nearly 400 different companies in 40 different consumer industries on an annual basis. It’s the single largest benchmarking study in the United States. The ACSI Automobile Study for 2024 was based on 12,173 completed surveys from customers who were chosen at random and contacted via email between July of 2023 and June of 2024. The survey is designed to accurately measure customers’ opinions of their vehicles and their overall satisfaction with them.

This year’s ACSI study rated Subaru as the number one brand in Vehicle Safety for the fifth year in a row, Product Quality for the fourth year in a row, Overall Product and Service Quality for the second year in a row, Perceived Value for the second year in a row, and Dependability and Driving Performance as well. Subaru also took the top spot of both the mass-market and luxury segments for Likelihood to Recommend and Customer Expectations, as well as tying for first in the Comfort and Warranty categories.

“Being recognized by Subaru customers for our commitment to safety, reliability, and longevity is an accomplishment we take to heart,” said Jeff Walters, President and Chief Operating Officer, Subaru of America, Inc. “This acknowledgment from ACSI is a reminder that our efforts to be More Than a Car Company® are of the utmost importance to Subaru and our retailers. We pride ourselves on consistency and quality, and we are thrilled to see the results as customers continue to choose Subaru time and time again.”
