The Subaru Outback 2017 is one amazing vehicle. It is one of the most spacious and practical crossovers you can come across. It is equally impressive for someone who is looking for a family vehicle.

The year has only begun and Subaru, the Japanese automaker, has already sold enough Outbacks to claim the second spot on the bestselling SUV in the large SUV segment. It came second only to the Toyota Prado. Not a bad deal! Perhaps next year they will be number one. It is awesome when your hard work and ingenuity pays off.

The Subaru Outback comes with standard equipment and limited options in typical Subaru fashion. This is truer for the Premium 3.6R and Premium models. If you are active and like the outdoor lifestyle, there is a range of accessories that will surely impress you.

Some of the accessories include bike carriers, Thule luggage pods that can be fitted on the roof, cargo nets and barriers, and an awning option that extends from the roof racks. You can put your skis up there and plenty of other items. Your canoe will fit up there too. No problem! Just make sure you strap it down.

The capped price servicing program is not a recent addition; however, Subaru Outback was certainly a latecomer. It offers three years or 75,000 km coverage for all the models. As far as the service intervals are considered, Subaru has capped it at 6 months/12,500 km intervals. Most other brands usually go down the annual route. If you own the 3.6R model, you will need to do an extra visit after 5,000 km that will set you back by $253.19.

Safe and Economical

The newest version of Subaru Outback was unveiled in the year 2015, and so far, there have been no reports of any known issues. So it is safe to say that you are in fantastic hands.

If you are looking for the most economical Outback out of the available models, then the 2.0D six speed manual trim level is the choice for you.

Obviously, the petrol models will consume more fuel and must be avoided when looking for an economical option.

If you are looking for the safest trim level, the 3.6R and all the premium models come equipped with Vision Assist that will help you navigate blind spots, and come with lane departure warnings. Yes, you still have to drive the car yourself!

The award winning Eyesight technology has been made a default feature for all automatic trim levels. Unfortunately, the manual transmission models are not compatible with Eyesight, for now. Maybe Subaru will come up with something in the coming years. They always seem to!

The Outback has a ground clearance of 213mm and is definitely not a pure SUV, but still offers golden off-road compatibility.
