Subaru of America has recently announced that it will continue its commitment to supporting the well-being of pets nationwide with the 2020 return of its Subaru Loves Pets initiative.
Subaru is dedicating the entire month of October to helping pets in need. The celebration will culminate in the second-annual incarnation of National Make a Dog’s Day on October 22. This national effort is designed to champion in-need dogs everywhere, especially those in shelters.
This year, Subaru will focus the majority of their effort on the last-to-be-adopted shelter dogs who are affected by physical challenges due to age, disability, or amputation. Subaru’s goal is to help these animals find loving homes, especially with families that already have a furry friend.’
In recognition of the special day, Subaru encourages dog owners to do something extra special for their pet and share the occurrence on social media using the hashtag #MakeADogsDay on October 22.
“Dogs hold a special place in our hearts here at Subaru, and this year’s National Make a Dog’s Day is the perfect occasion to show appreciation for our canine friends, especially the hundreds of thousands of dogs with special needs that are too often overlooked,” said Alan Bethke, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Subaru of America, Inc.
“We are proud to kickstart this initiative for the second year and help shelter pets find loving homes,” he added.
To further support the Subaru Loves Pets initiative, Subaru will begin airing new dog-focused television, online, and radio commercials throughout the month of October.
In addition, close to 600 participating Subaru retailers will hold socially-distanced in-person and/or virtual adoption events through October 31. For every pet adopted across all Subaru retailers this month, Subaru will donate $100 to local shelters and the ASPCA®.
