Earlier this month, Subaru of America announced that, in keeping with a decades-long partnership with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS), it would be sponsoring the Philadelphia Flower Show for the 20th consecutive year!
The Philadelphia Flower Show is the nation’s largest and longest-running horticultural celebration. This year, the event will make history by moving outdoors to the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park for the first time ever. The country’s most sought-after gardening exhibit will take place from June 5 to June 13, 2021. Covering 15 acres, the expanded show will allow for an all-new venue of creative expression while maintaining proper social distancing protocols.
“Each year, the Philadelphia Flower Show inspires nature lovers to enjoy earth’s natural beauty, while also gaining an understanding of how crucial it is to preserve it,” said Thomas J. Doll, President and CEO, Subaru of America, Inc. “We at Subaru are proud to be a part of the Philadelphia Flower Show for the 20th consecutive year, bringing the visual delights of the show outdoors for all to enjoy.”
This year’s show will operate under the theme of “HABITAT: Nature’s Masterpiece.” It will explore the beauty of life through the healing lens of nature. Visitors from all across the country will be treated to exceptional beauty, learn from a diverse line-up of expert horticulturists, and enter a new gardener-centric experience that encourages a lifelong connection to plants.
As the exclusive sponsor of the event, Subaru will celebrate the great outdoors with several exhibits focused on educating attendees wildlife and horticulture. Alongside The Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the outdoorsy automaker will host designated bird watching areas, engage children and adults in the opportunity to observe wildlife in action, and feature lessons on bird-attracting gardening tactics as well as proper avian identification.
In addition, Subaru will also host several gardening workshops, known as “Potting Parties,” throughout the grounds of the flower show. Hosted by Tu Bloom, the Official Botanical Artist of the GRAMMY Awards, attendees will be invited to create their own container displays with a focus on pollinator plants that attract and preserve the ecosystem of bees and butterflies.
