Subaru Loves the Earth Month Achieves 2022 Recycling Milestone

 

Subaru of America recently celebrated the company’s environmentally-focused philanthropic initiative, Subaru Loves the Earth, which is part of the larger Subaru Loves mission, for reaching a new milestone. The recycling milestone achieved by the campaign includes over six million disposable cups and lids, coffee, tea, creamer packaging, and snack wrappers over the past  four years.

Subaru of America Celebrates Recycling, Renews Partnership with TerraCycle

 

Earlier this month, Subaru of America announced that it would renew its commitment to divert hard-to-recycle waste from landfills and incinerators in addition to continuing its partnership with international recycling leader, TerraCycle®

 

2021 marks the fourth consecutive year of the successful recycling program, which has recently reached a major milestone, having recycled over 5 million disposable cups, lids, coffee, tea, and creamer capsules, and snack wrappers.

Subaru Builds Partnership for a Healthier Earth



Subaru is critically-acclaimed for the vehicles that the company produces, but that isn't the manufacturer's only defining characteristic. The company is also well-known for its activism and leadership in environmental health, including the waste-free production methods used in its plants.

Subaru Zerowaste Factory in Indiana

Around 70 tons of black plastic had been going to a recycler from the Subaru factory in Indiana, until today. The plastic waste certainly was not being sent to a landfill like it was a decade ago, but this still was not good enough for Subaru. Subaru’s standards are that high. Too bad the federal government did not do better in managing America’s tax dollars. Perhaps Subaru should run America.
